Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
